Hello, I’m Nasheana — although most people call me Nash.
I’m an experienced midwife and have been caring for women and families since qualifying in 2008. Nearly 18 years later, I still feel incredibly privileged to be invited into such an important and personal time in a woman’s life.
Throughout my career, I’ve cared for women and families from many different backgrounds, cultures and circumstances, and no two journeys have ever been quite the same. My experience has included everything from teenage pregnancy and more complex pregnancies to surrogacy journeys and same-sex families.
If there’s one thing all those years have taught me, it’s that women remember how they were made to feel.
Being listened to. Having someone take the time to explain things properly. Feeling comfortable enough to ask the question you’ve been worrying about. Knowing that your choices will be respected.
Those things really matter to me, and they’re a big part of the way I care.
Outside of midwifery, I’m a mum of four and a kinship carer to my late sister’s three wonderful children, so life in our Essex home is wonderfully busy! I live with my husband and our younger crew, and when we’re not juggling everyday family life, we love going to the theatre, watching musicals, travelling and anything involving a little Disney magic.
My own experiences of womanhood, motherhood and family life have only deepened my belief that women deserve care that considers the whole of who they are — not simply their pregnancy.
That’s what I hope you’ll find with The Wellness Midwife.
Whether you choose ongoing antenatal and postnatal care or simply need an individual appointment for some additional support or reassurance, I’ll meet you where you are and give you the time to talk, ask questions and feel heard.
I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you through your own journey.
Warmly,
Nash

Independent midwifery care gives you something that can sometimes be difficult to find within busy maternity services — time and continuity.
Having your own midwife means building a relationship with someone who gets to know you, your pregnancy and what matters to you. It also gives you more time to ask questions, talk through any worries and really understand the choices available to you.
Some of the benefits include:
For me, independent midwifery isn't about replacing the maternity care available to you. It's about giving you additional time, continuity and personalised support alongside it, so you feel heard, informed and supported throughout your journey.
